Description of the MiurEssence Dry Sump System
The MiurEssence Dry Sump System has been designed to
conform to and complement the exquisite styling of the Lamborghini Miura engine.
It is a bolt-on addition which replaces several original components and requires
no permanent modification to your Lamborghini Miura. With this system, a Miura owner
is able to fully utilize the Miura in the way it was designed to be used without
damaging the engine due to an erratic oil supply (see the
Journal Bearing Theory and Miura Oiling Issues section of the website.)
The original parts can be reinstalled at a later time to return the car to its "as
delivered" condition, if the owner chooses to do so.
The MiurEssence Dry Sump System includes:
- an oil pump casting, custom machined to match the original pump casting;
- a twin oil filter housing with two filters;
- an internally gear driven four-stage scavenge pump (no external belt);
- a scavenge pump drive gear;
- a dry sump pan with four sumps;
- an external oil tank;
- oil hoses and fittings;
- gaskets;
- two camshaft end covers;
- an oil filler cap; and
- an electric pre-oil pump.
